Software Engineer
Looking for good C/C++ developers! The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and able to juggle complex tasks. He/she must be able to work with the internet (IRC, email, VoIP) as a primary form of communication with the rest of the development team. This full-time position is available for qualified candidates worldwide.

Job Description

* Preferred Experience: 3+ / 5+ and 10+ years C/C++ software development experience
* Functional Areas: Engineering
* Essential Functions
o Design and develop new features in MySQL Server
o Fixing Bugs in MySQL Server
o Write specifications, code, and tests. Good understanding of software development processes.
o Team work. Negotiates with peers and other team leaders to achieve work objectives.
* Required Knowledge
o Ability to understand large pieces of code fast
o Strong understanding of long running programs (for example: Operating System Kernels, Filesystems, high end networking equipment). MySQL delivers maximum performance, 'forever' uptime and ease of use.
o Have proven skills in designing and coding complex environments
o SQL database experience
o Strong experience with Linux or Windows development environments
o Experience working with revision control tools (for example: BitKeeper, Subversion)
* Preferred Knowledge
o Experience with database kernel (research, commercial or OSS) development
o Experience with database kernel (research, commercial or OSS) development
o Experience with open source development tools and environments
o Contributions to some Open Source projects (we like to see Code from people who apply!)
o Experience with MySQL
* Years of Experience: 3+ years C/C++ software development experience
* Minimum Level of Education
o BS Computer Science or equivalent
o Fluent written and spoken English
